Relationship advice from a horse
I have had the pleasure of being surrounded by some amazing horses over the years and here is some of the wisdom I have learned from observing them that I wanted to share with you all!
Be sure to take care of yourself first and foremost. Just like the lead mare eats first, drinks first, takes shelter first. She must keep herself a priority because you can’t give what you don’t have.
Embrace their individualities and uniqueness. Love them for who they are right now, not who you want them to be.
Push them to be their best but love them no matter the outcome. Be their biggest encourager and supporter.
Stay present in the moment. Every time something goes wrong, we weren’t in the present moment. Stay present and teach others how to as well.
Love well and love strong. Showing love or affection is not a weakness, don’t shy away from it. It could change everything when someone feels loved.
Give encouragement when it is due and give punishment only when needed. Do not withhold love if there is a punishment, love them unconditionally no matter what.
Know their heart and know them, all of them. Embrace them, all of them. Love unconditionally, always. Don’t be afraid to go deep when you feel led, sometimes those are the most special moments when you look back.
Thank the good lord for friends and family and enjoy the ride! Surround yourself with like-minded people and keep your herd strong.
With love,
Kaley
