The Unbecoming
What is the unbecoming, you might ask?
It’s a joyful place, without even a mask.
It’s where the lord resides and where he comes to meet us.
It’s a place of safety, love and deep known respect.
It’s a place not many of us know because it’s in a place deep within our soul.
The soul is so much more than we know or believe, it’s a lot of little pieces that make up one big whole.
It’s not a place where you can go, feel, touch or see.
For its deep within and only for God to see.
It might just set you free if you’re daring enough to rebuke the devil that it keeps.
This isn’t a scheming and evil kind of devil that we all know and believe.
It’s a devilish thing that seeps deep, deep, deep.
It’s goes deeper and deeper into the well of our soul, where it plants roots and begins to grow.
You may feel it’s roots once it begins to pull,
For the roots are deeper than anybody will even know.
These roots show up in the scars of our life and begin to tell us we are nothing alike.
They have grown so deep and so proud they think they will never be found.
But the soul belongs only to our God, who knows all, now and before.
They settle down so nice and deep they begin to make us think, we are yet to be.
They twist and turn and bend and straight.
They dig and dig and scrape and scrape.
Before too long even at all,
We are nothing but a shell.
A shell of who we used to be,
Before the happening became of me.
Now we wonder to and fro,
Only wanting to be whole.
Asking ourselves what it’d be like just to feel free?
Who are we, anyways?
These questions we ponder plague our minds, trapping us in the prison of time.
If only we had more of it we say.
What would it matter if we had just one more day?
Let the birds just fly away.
Let your mind wonder and realize the truth,
The unbecoming is the great and noble youth.
The love of a child is not blind, they love with all their heart and their mind!
The mind of a child is not hard, it is soft and fluffy full of rainbows and unicorns.
This journey you’re on is not one of many,
this life you have is all you’ve got.
The great unbecoming is but a thought.
One little thought that waters the drought,
The drought no one else even knew about.
The dry fragile grass of your heart that has been trampled and simply torn apart.
Let my waters flow through your heart, creating channels for love to flow.
The running water will sooth your dry and weary soul.
The unbecoming is not what you think for it’s every little thought that goes with the flow.
Break free I say! Break free and go! Break free and let those creative waters flow!
Healing will follow wherever my love flows!
You’ve stayed in one place far too long,
It’s your time to come back home.
Home is where the heart lies.
Now won’t you take me home with you?
What area of your life is God calling you to step out in and be creative in? What area of your life is God showing you unconditional love in? Where is God leading you to in this season? What do you have to offer to God for Him to use in a glorious way? What does your unbecoming look like today?
With love,
Kaley
